You roll a basketball and a bowling ball directly towards each other at the same speed. Predict what will happen to each after the two collide.

Solution:

Let’s assume that this is an “elastic collision of unequal masses” (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elastic_collision, which will help you visualize this). Let’s also assume that the weight of the basketball is 1 pound and the weight of the bowling ball is 2 pounds, and that the basket ball is traveling from east to west at a speed (v) of 9 miles per hour, and the bowling ball is traveling west to east at 9 miles per hour.

After the collision the bowling ball reverse direction and travel at 3 miles per hour, and the basketball will reverse direction and travel at 15 miles per hour.

Taking help from online tutors can be similar to taking help from teachers after school. However, some people think that online homework help might be cheating. Lets find out how true is it...

Today’s curriculum is vast. Consequently, students often need help in doing their homework. Teachers in school are not always able to provide help when the students most need it. This is where the online homework help comes in.

Many people believe that this is a form of cheating, but this is far from the truth. Students seek help from online teachers just like they do when they are in their class. The difference being that the online teachers are available to them at any hour of the day and not just during school hours. Online homework help is just the thing that many students need to excel, as it enables them to avoid “getting stuck” and helps them focus on areas where they need practice.

Technology is helping students perform well in their studies. If you need help with homework, there are many sources of online homework help, including one-on-one academic coachig. By dong some research, you may also find some free resources for online homework help.

In order to prepare for the GRE exam, start working at least 3 to 6 months before the exam date. A focused preparation schedule and the right approach are what you require to get a good score in the GRE. The general GRE tests your basic verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills.

However, getting a good score is not the only factor that a graduate school might weigh while assessing a candidate’s skills developed over his academic years. Some graduate schools look for better analytical skills and writing abilities in addition to a good score.

You can get a private tutor or a good online GRE tutor for yourself if a good private tutor is not available locally. The face-to-face interaction with a tutor helps in reinforcing certain concepts and clarifying issues. While preparing for the GRE exam, keep assessing your skills in all the three sections as all the sections are equally important. Try to take a practice GRE exam by enrolling in some online GRE mock tests or use the resources provided by your tutor.

Such exams require some sacrifices, but the result will pay off some day. You need to plan your schedule during the preparation period for the GRE exam. Stick to your schedule without any excuses and practice regularly. While giving the exam, if you are stuck on one question, avoid wasting your time and move on to the next question. Also avoid guesswork as there are negative points for wrong answers in this exam; this can really reduce your score if you’re not careful.
