SchoolTrainer provides
a wide range of academic coaching services, including online
tutoring services, learning centers and homework help. Online
learning can be a great way to prepare for tests, and our
academic coaches can provide much more than traditional
tutors. The difference between our academic coaches and
tutors is that the academic coach focuses on identifying
the strengths and weaknesses of each student, and helps
the student strengthen his knowledge and way of learning.
For example, whereas English tutors might be experts in
the area of grammar, English coaches are also experts in
the capabilities their individual students, and can help
students achieve their full potential. Similarly, a Math
tutor might be able to provide trigonometry help, but a
Math coach also seeks to understand why the student requires
trigonometry help. A Chemistry tutor can provide help with
homework, but a Chemistry coach will study the student to
understand his or her way of learning. Tutors focus on the
subject, whereas academic coaches also focus on the student.
While most of our students prefer online tutoring
services, some students prefer to work with teachers face-to-face
in a learning center. Therefore, in some countries, SchoolTrainer
has also set up learning centers where we help students
with test prep and also help with homework. These learning
centers provide students with a secure and supportive environment
where they can get face-to-face tuition assistance from
an experienced English tutor, Math tutor or Chemistry tutor.
Our learning centers help students connect with their coaches
in a way that online tutoring services can never replace.
The third area where SchoolTrainer operates is in
the area of on-demand homework help. Our homework helpers
recognize that providing a student help when he or she is
stuck can make a big difference in the learning experience.
Our homework help service has the long term interests of
the student at heart: rather than relieving them of the
burden of doing homework, our homework helpers try to serve
as a catalyst, and help students overcome specific areas
where they are stuck. When we provide students help with
homework, it’s not about “outsourcing”
the homework, but providing specific inputs to make sure
that the student stays on track. For example, a student
that is looking for trigonometry help will get advice on
how to solve a question, but our Math tutor would not solve
the problem for them. In fact, trigonometry help includes
asking the students the right questions, not feeding them
answers. Similarly, our English tutors and Chemistry tutors
understand that being a homework helper requires a great
deal of finesse.
