The problem as stated is untenable, because 2x can not be equal to  2(x+6) .

 

However, if the problem is like 2x= 3+3x = - 2(x+6), then  it would have a common solution.

 We have then three equations  2x= 3+3x,

 

                                              3+3x = -2(x+6) and

 

                                                   2x= -2(x+6)

 Solving any one of these equation would give the desired answer.  For Example

 

solving  2x = 3+3x,  we get x= -3.

 

this satisfies 3+3x= -2(x+6)  and 2x= -2(x+6) also.
