The fact that 30% of the grills
listed in a magazine cost more than $700 doesn’t help us figure out what
percent of people would buy them. For example, suppose 30% of the grills listed
in the magazine were priced at over a million dollars each. You would expect
that the percentage of people buying the grills would be zero, or very close to
zero.
