The given sheet of scrapbook can be folded in the shape of a cuboid with a square base of side 3 cms or in the shape of a cylinder with circumference 12cms and height 12 cms.  Both the figures are shown in the figure above.

 

The volume of the cuboid will be 3x3x12 = 108 cm3

 

The volume of the cylinder will be πr2h = π (12)

                                                                 = 137.56

 

Which shows that volume will be maximum of the cylindrical shape, however the surface area will remain equal.
