Mountains
block the flow of air and clouds. One side of a mountain range may
receive a lot of rain while the other side may not receive any. Thus, a
desert may be on one side of a mountain but a much more humid climate may exist
on the other side. The higher and longer the mountain range the larger the area
of the land that is affected.
