12th Grade Physics

While every high school has a slightly different curriculum, most 12th grade physics students will study vectors, circular and planetary motion, electricity and magnetism. Twelfth grade vector physics would typically include two or more masses (if not already covered in 11th grade). Twelfth grade circular and planetary physics should cover circular motion, universal gravitation, simple harmonic motion. Students in grade 12 physics might also study Coulomb’s Law and Ohm’s Law as part of a study of electricity and magnetism, and be expected to describe factors that control electrical resistance, define electric current, draw schematic diagrams for series, parallel and simple combination circuits, describe electrical energy and electrical power qualitatively and quantitatively, and design an experiment to identify specific variables.
